Philharmonic in the Park

A mix of Mendelssohn, Sousa, and Tchaikovsky, with an encore ending of Jimmy Hendrix's "Purple Haze" and some Fireworks over the castle, was pretty fantastic. I got out there about 6ish with the concert starting at 8. Luckily i have some very dedicated friends who staked out a spot at 3 so we could be close. The weather was great and the people around us were pretty tolerable. Actually, near us, there was a group of older men who had come early with a folding table spread out with tablecloth and flowers with the wine pouring freely and enjoying there dinner, while they waited for the concert to start. It was really cute.
Someone announced that there was over 60000 people in attendance. Personally i don't know how they couldv'e counted them all spread out on the field, but who knows....

The First

It always seems the first of anything is awkward and uncertain. I thought i would use this entry, being the first, as the awkward and uncertain moment. What do i blog about? what is it about my life that is worth sharing with the world......or with those whom i allow into my world? Or perhaps it will be so boring that it insures my privacy with the world as no one will want to read it. The other thing are pictures, taking them and posting them.................i really enjoy taking pictures, in fact i have a great SLR camera (before the digital days), which has sat in it's case for the last 2 years, becasue of my husbands fearful dread of feeling like a tourist. Therefore i will attempt to bring the camera back to life again.

Actually,I am very late to the "Blogging" thing. I have avoided it for so long. However, the whole world around me seems to be doing it and i feel a little pressure to keep up. Perhaps it will be like scrapbooking. So many people do it and make the cutest things.........but i found quickly enough that it isn't my thing at all.

My true excuse for beginning this is really to stay somewhat connected with my family. I live so far from my family and now a sister and her family are moving away from the rest of the bunch. We talk a lot but it will be fun to see pictures and visually enjoy what is going on.

For being a first post, that wasn't horribly awkward at all!!.........there might be something to this "Blogging" thing after all:)
