Corey's Mom came out to help when Lars was born. And to our suprise his Dad drove all night to be there as well. They were a great help as I was recouping from the birth.
After being practically bed-ridden (just really tired and sleeping all the time) I finally went out when he was 1 week old. We walked to the post office and back. That was about all i could do. But it felt great!!. Here is Lars wrapped up in the moby wrap all content.

These last two pictures are a very common occurence in our house. Lars loves to fall asleep on your chest. It allows me to get a good nap too. He usually will sleep this way for a couple of hours. The other day Corey and Lars were sleeping like this and both had their mouths open and were drooling a bit.........well Lars was anyway. It was really cute.

Update on Lars

Lars @ 8 Days Old
We took Lars to the pediatrician yesterday and he was weighed, measured, had an accident on the table while being measured, pooped in 1 diaper and as we were changing him he pooped in the new diaper (going through 4 diapers just while at the Dr's), and all in all found to still be healthy:)

He is now:
10 lbs
22 1/4" long
head circumference: 14"

The pediatrician wants to see him in a week again because being exclusively breast fed she wants to make sure he is getting enough to eat.
I thought to myself "if he was born 9 lbs 8 oz, dropped to 8 lbs 14 oz, and is now 10 lbs all in the first week, I think he is getting enough to eat" Of course I didn't say this out loud.

Lars is also a trooper at night. He only wakes up about twice during the night to eat. Which is sooo great cause i don't do well with little to no sleep as corey can testify when i snapped at him the other night when i was half asleep trying to feed Lars. I hope he stays a good sleeper:)

Addressing Rumors

I didn't want to interrupt all the cute and adorable pictures of Lars with bad news but i feel like i should address some rumors. We are moving out of the City. We had hoped that it wouldn't happen but feel that it is the right move for our family. We have loved the time we have spent here and all the friends we have made and we are going to miss you all tremendously. Corey has always had a bigger attachment to the city and the idea hasn't truly hit him that we are leaving but I have to confess since leaving my old employment (traveling) I have finally come to feel that New York City is my home and not just the stopping ground between flights. We have sooooo many memories here......The first time Corey said "I Love You" as we walked across Brooklyn Bridge; This has been our first home since being married; Our home being where we had our first baby; Central Park and frisbie games and picnics; Game nights with friends; Friends from playgroups and parties; Time spent with friends just walking around the city; Football season at Morgan's house; Rarely eaten but thoroughly enjoyed Vender Food; .......etc.

There are so many things we have enjoyed here and the move will be extremely bittersweet.
Our good friend is taking over our lease at the end of June and for now we are heading to Kentucky to be near family. We don't know our final destination as of yet but this transition will help us get acquainted again with suburbia.

We will miss all of you but we will keep in touch. And we will always be back to visit.

LARS SLOAN BJARNSON
One week ago today our Lil Man joined the world.
Caught on May 26, 2009 at 3:04 am
Weighing in at 9 lbs 8oz
21" long
We had a successful Home Birth. It was wonderful to be able to just relax and bond immediately following the birth. It was a great exerience. I will write a little more details of the birth later as it did have its complications. These pictures were taken before he was 1 day old. We think he is the most adorable guy in the world.

In the Circus

I was walking down the street with corey the other day and he made a comment about people staring at my belly. As I was walking to the Post Office today I noticed the same thing. People didnt' look at my face. It was like the only thing they saw was my ever growing stomach. It is kind of like I am in the circus or something. Although there was a women with 2 little kids that I walked past and actually smile at me. One guy wearing his little girl actually smiled and said hello, As though they knew what I was in for and were excited about it. You can definately tell who in the city likes children.

The Last Time

In all my excitement and anticipation to meet our little Guy, it only occured to me today that these few days are going to be the last time that Corey and I will ever be alone. Alone, until we hit the empty nester stage of life--in about 30 years. What do you do when you know that these last few days are all you have left before our little bundle of joy comes? We have talked about visiting all the sites around NYC that we love and taking pictures and just enjoying the city. However, luck would have it that it is raining all week. We have delayed this adventure just long enough that if we go we will get soaked.
As I reflect on our wonderful 4 years(in july) together, we have had some fun. Our Cross Country excursion of a honeymoon and our couple of road trips to KY were great fun. We have enjoyed the city with just us and with visiting family. Helicopter rides over NYC and Broadway shows, walks in the park, Ultimate Frisbie games, and enjoying the run around the Horse trail and then progressing to doing the loop on the road; Summer sundays lounging on the grass on the Great Hill reading, napping and eating fruit, Visiting almost all the tourist traps here with family; Hitting up the Bronx Zoo with David, Melanie, and Luke, and we each taking turns riding the camel; Spending Christmas in the city and going to see the Rockettes; Visiting our favorite Vender (Which we do only about once a year on special occasions) and splitting an Italian sausage and Philly Cheestake sandwich. YUMMM! (As you can tell we are not huge restaurant people (when you travel for a living and eat at restaurants most of the week it gets to be all the same.) so we don't have too many well frequented spots.) This was one of the last things I wanted to do before the baby comes, because after he is here, eating it could mean a big diaper blowout. A couple of years ago we took my sister-in -law Melanie to eat there and she was still nursing her little one and he had the worst diaper explosion from the spicy food.........it was really really messy and stinky. Hence before the baby comes would be ideal to eat at our vender:):)
We have hiked and floated down a river in idaho and lost a wedding ring in the chilly water (good thing it was Corey's and not mine, due to it being a bit easier and cheaper to replace), visited aquariams and mamoth caves, and of course the corvette museum (very cool by the way).
Although our more exotic trips (ie. Hawaii, Italy, Fall Coastal drive in a convertible) have gotten cancelled due to things coming up, I must say that we have had a great time together, just the two of us. We are very excited to be adding on to our family, but I have been really trying to document and organize all our photos of our life as just the two of us. Kind of backtracking to journal it all before it is a long lost memory.
Perhaps we will do something special in the next couple of days or perhaps we won't. I guess it won't matter much since we have done much together and had a great time doing it. No regrets here and we are ready for the next phase of life..... with kids.

addicted

I don't know why, but lately i am soooo addicted to the game bejeweled. I can't seem to stop playing it. I have already played it for an hour this morning. There are things I could be doing besides playng it but I just can't stop myself. "just one more game" is what I keep telling myself.......i could say that forever. But really "one more game" and then i'm off to do dishes.
