Lars and the Bjarnson Cousins

We went up to the Cincinnati area to visit with Corey's brother and family. Here is Luke with his sister Lynnea and Lars. Luke loves to touch the babies's heads. We have to keep reminding him to hold them around their tummies and not in a headlock.

Things have been a bit crazy lately and i haven't been able to update this. We left NYC almost 1 month ago and it seems we have been on the go and traveling since then.
We left NYC on Sunday afternoon with Corey's family and drove up to Palmyra to see the church history sites there. We left Palmyra on Tuesday and drove down to KY. We stayed the 1st week with Corey's Brother and his family in Northern KY because that they would be blessing their baby girl. On Thursday we drove to Louisville (1 1/2 hours South) to pick up Grandma & Grandpa Bjarnson and continued to drive to Bowling Green (another 2 hour drive south) On Sunday Morning we woke up super early to drive the 3 1/2 hours to N. KY for the baby blessing. We stayed the night again and went to the zoo and celebrated my nephew and sister in law's Birthdays. We then drove home Monday night. I was so tired i slept almost the whole way home. We stayed in Bowling Green almost 2 weeks i think and then on monday this week we drove back up to N.KY. To say the least we have been busy. But we are back in Bowling green again and relaxing for the next trip north.

Here are some updated pictures of our Lil' Guy! He is getting so big. He was a total rockstar in all our travels. We did discover that he needs noise during his naps. He was so used to hearing sirens and noises from the city, and now that we live in a very quiet neighborhood and house he doesn't sleep well or long if we don't have some noise around. We put a humidifier in the room and play classical music and he does just fine. The other day my mother in law was trying to get him to sleep and he was fighting it. She gave up and laid him on the couch and began to vacuum. Within just a minute or so he was sound asleep. I can't get luckier can I....with a boy who will sleep through the vacuum cleaner. I love it!

Lars smiling. He has the cutest little dimple on his left cheek

Lars just looking darn cute

Lars in his Sunday outfit (which he has now outgrown)
He is wearing mostly 3-6 month clothing now and he is only 2 months old.
Safari Lars (we are still working on fitting into this outfit)

Our Heavy-Weight Champ

Lars is officially 3 weeks old yesterday. And quite the heavy-weight. He is doing great and is a very relaxed and a happy boy now that I know I really have to avoid certain foods. Chocolate makes him throw up everything and dairy just makes him not feel good and gives his spit up a different texture. Also I discovered that broccoli makes him very gassy. But he does tolerate when I eat beans which I am glad about cause they are a regular feature in my diet.
We went to the doctor on monday for his check-up. Here are the latest figures
Weight: 11 lbs
Height: 22 1/2"
Head Circumference: 14 1/2"
And the doctor thought because he is exclusively breast-fed that he wouldn't be gaining weight. in 3 weeks he has gone from 9 lbs8 oz to 11 lbs. I think that is pretty good. This is his favorite sleeping position
AND .......even though i have yet to really capture it on camera (our apartment lighting really stinks) Our little boy has strawberry blond hair and it seems to be getting redder. People actually notice the moment they see him and wonder where he got it from. I am way excited about it. I just hope that it stays.

Corey's Mom came out to help when Lars was born. And to our suprise his Dad drove all night to be there as well. They were a great help as I was recouping from the birth.
After being practically bed-ridden (just really tired and sleeping all the time) I finally went out when he was 1 week old. We walked to the post office and back. That was about all i could do. But it felt great!!. Here is Lars wrapped up in the moby wrap all content.

These last two pictures are a very common occurence in our house. Lars loves to fall asleep on your chest. It allows me to get a good nap too. He usually will sleep this way for a couple of hours. The other day Corey and Lars were sleeping like this and both had their mouths open and were drooling a bit.........well Lars was anyway. It was really cute.

Update on Lars

Lars @ 8 Days Old
We took Lars to the pediatrician yesterday and he was weighed, measured, had an accident on the table while being measured, pooped in 1 diaper and as we were changing him he pooped in the new diaper (going through 4 diapers just while at the Dr's), and all in all found to still be healthy:)

He is now:
10 lbs
22 1/4" long
head circumference: 14"

The pediatrician wants to see him in a week again because being exclusively breast fed she wants to make sure he is getting enough to eat.
I thought to myself "if he was born 9 lbs 8 oz, dropped to 8 lbs 14 oz, and is now 10 lbs all in the first week, I think he is getting enough to eat" Of course I didn't say this out loud.

Lars is also a trooper at night. He only wakes up about twice during the night to eat. Which is sooo great cause i don't do well with little to no sleep as corey can testify when i snapped at him the other night when i was half asleep trying to feed Lars. I hope he stays a good sleeper:)

Addressing Rumors

I didn't want to interrupt all the cute and adorable pictures of Lars with bad news but i feel like i should address some rumors. We are moving out of the City. We had hoped that it wouldn't happen but feel that it is the right move for our family. We have loved the time we have spent here and all the friends we have made and we are going to miss you all tremendously. Corey has always had a bigger attachment to the city and the idea hasn't truly hit him that we are leaving but I have to confess since leaving my old employment (traveling) I have finally come to feel that New York City is my home and not just the stopping ground between flights. We have sooooo many memories here......The first time Corey said "I Love You" as we walked across Brooklyn Bridge; This has been our first home since being married; Our home being where we had our first baby; Central Park and frisbie games and picnics; Game nights with friends; Friends from playgroups and parties; Time spent with friends just walking around the city; Football season at Morgan's house; Rarely eaten but thoroughly enjoyed Vender Food; .......etc.

There are so many things we have enjoyed here and the move will be extremely bittersweet.
Our good friend is taking over our lease at the end of June and for now we are heading to Kentucky to be near family. We don't know our final destination as of yet but this transition will help us get acquainted again with suburbia.

We will miss all of you but we will keep in touch. And we will always be back to visit.

Our Lil' Guy is Here at last

LARS SLOAN BJARNSON
One week ago today our Lil Man joined the world.
Caught on May 26, 2009 at 3:04 am
Weighing in at 9 lbs 8oz
21" long
We had a successful Home Birth. It was wonderful to be able to just relax and bond immediately following the birth. It was a great exerience. I will write a little more details of the birth later as it did have its complications. These pictures were taken before he was 1 day old. We think he is the most adorable guy in the world.
