Family Reunion

OK. SO these pics are a bit late in coming. They are from the July Family Reunion.

Looking Down

Do you ever find yourself looking down at your feet when you walk? As we were walking through the park yesterday I noticed i am always looking at my feet. 3 Years in NYC and i have a habit of looking at every step to make sure i don't step in doggy doo doo. What is up with that!! No more looking at nature cause I have to make sure I don't step in anything.

About Prev. Post

Ok. SO my sis in law did this same thing so i thought i would. Well I don't know how accurate it really is. I don't think i'm outrageously adventurous; maybe perhaps i like to be adventurous but how often do i really do crazy things? Oh well. i liked it anyway.

Hiking Deseret Peak in Stansbury Mountains

This was a great hike. I have hike all over the Wasatch Mountains but I had never been in these mountains before. As you entered them you wondered if there were going to be trees at all it was all shrub brush and i almost expected to see some cactus. As we got further along on the road to the trail you began to see aspen trees and finally during the hike we approached the pine trees.
Rae, Dad, and Corey (i was taking the picture)

See all the lovely Pine Trees....... I totally miss the pine smell being in NYC. Except at Christmas time with all the tree stands on the corners. That is the next best thing:)
Corey and I decided to Hike it again and make it to the top for our Anniversary. It was great. We came across a couple of wild turkeys (they wouldn't pose for the camera so didnt' get their picture), and 3 deer. The Deer scurried off the trail but stopped close by to watch us. I got some good pictures.
Here is the Meadow right before the Very Tip Top. It was verybig and had these beautiful purple and yellow flowers all over. The camera didn't realy pick that up. You can see how big the meadow is with corey in the middle. You can hardly see him. The mountain canyon you are looking toward is the Antelope Canyon. (it isn't the canyon we hiked up.)
Because the Weatherman forcasted rain when we got to the meadow we saw a bunch of very dark clouds gathering and so not being prepared with rain gear decided not to go the last 1/4 mile to the very peak. The elevation was 11000 feet. I have to say that being in NYC so long i think the altitude got to me a little. NYC is making me such a softie.

Vacation 2008: 1st Stop- The Mountains

1st stop: Stansbury Mountains (these are the mountains on the west side of the Tooele Valley)
Activity: Corey and my Mom painting the mountains in the very hot sun. I was taking pictures with my awesome camera. We all put sunblock on..............and reapplied the sunblock.....but one of us forgot to apply it to his arms both times... were Lobster Red. It was pretty funny although pretty painful.

not much to tell

Well.... there isn't too much to tell. Our Days have been filled with trading and..... trading. Getting up early to go running in the park while the weather is cool (albiet it has still been like 70% humid) and getting ready for the market to open. C' has been painting a ton to get ready for a show. The painting is coming along really well and looking near complete. And since he is heading to UT next week he has to have it done this week.
I haven't really done a whole lot. I made a skirt on saturday which turned out really cute. it was a wrap skirt. I thought it was a little odd that it wrapped in the back so i decided to wear it wrapped in the front, but it actually worked better with it in the back. I just had to hold it down so it wouldn't flap open all the way to church. (the street we walk down to get to church is ALWAYS windy) Gotta love new york and the tall buildings creating wind channels.
Also i am getting ready to visit my family out in UT. I am really excited to get a break from the city and go climb a mountain and visit some friends and hang out with family. i will be gone for like 3 weeks which will be great. I'm really excited about it and will take a ton of pictures.
